I thought that this photo may have been taken in Winckley Square Preston which is only a few minutes walk from the Harris Institute on Avenham Lane. However there are no buildings as tall as the one in the background. Does anyone know where it was taken?

A Schoolgirl friend of Aunty Mays, (age 14 / 15) at an unknown location in 1924. This girl also appears in a School Hockey Team photograph taken in 1925 in which Aunty May is in the same photo. In that photo the girl is sat on the front row at the end, left side.

Members of the School Hockey Team with Aunty May stood at the end, right side. (All circa 15 or 16). It is thought that the "HIC" initials on the badges stood for the "Harris Institute Club". Aunty May attended the Harris Institute which had premises on Avenham Lane and Corporation Street in Preston town centre. 1925.
