British Rail class 84 electric locomotive 84007, ‘Expo 73’ No.6 Dock, Manchester. Friday 25 May 1973.

‘Expo 73’ was a transport exhibition held in and adjacent to the Transit Shed (b.1967) No.6 Dock, Manchester. The site is now called Clippers Quay and until quite recently it was occupied by a derelict Cannon multi-complex cinema (1986 – 2001). Over 600 apartments are expected to be built on the site.

Expo 73 was part of the Manchester Festival and featured railway locomotives, a mock-up of the APT-E and Manchester tram 765.
