Turns at Midnight was built back in 2009 for the Brother's Brick Zombie Appocafest display. The intent was to do a Zombified version of the Grand Carousel set. But I think I got a bit carried away. Luckily it won the Best Zombified Building award.
After the show I returned it to a more whimsical state. Where fantasy creatures gather at midnight to ride the carousel. I picture it existing on a very narrow side street in Paris, where very few people ever wander.
It is powered in the center by a large power functions motor. The carousel sits on top of two Technic Hailfire Droid wheels. These have soccer balls in between them to act as ball bearings. The rest of the workings are similar to the Grand Carousel set.
