The Shay Locomotive is one of my older creations. Built in 2003 for the Vancouver Lego Club's History of Surrey exhibit. I updated the base in 2009 for Brickfest PDX where it won best sculpture.
The model features working drive shaft, valves, swinging bell, light up firebox, and front and rear headlamps. The loud sound is the micromotor. For such a small motor they sure are noisy!
