May 24, 2012 — Built in 1968 with a metal mesh deck, this Cherry Street lift bridge rises to allow boats in and out of the Keating Channel, and mouth of the Don River.
A 2006 city inspection found the bridge needed $2 million in repairs. In 2019 the bridge became stuck in its upright position for several weeks, lowered with help from a crane. As of 2023, slated for demolition.
