The fall of 2023 saw excursions operate on the Buckingham Branch RR between Goshen and Staunton, VA for 5 weeks. the trips operated in co-operation between the VMT, NS and BB RR. The sold out trips covered for a small portion of the C&O, and brought much tourism to the area. The trips were organized well and many thought it would become a seasonal thing. Unfortunately, a multitude of issues between the VMT and trip organizers made this a one and done, most likely never to happen again. The first weekend in November was cloudless and the 611 made a fine sight in the hills of Virginia, here the 611 is just a few miles of its' destination in Staunton, passing Swoope, VA . November 5, 2023.
