Great Gray Owl flying low to listen for movement beneath the snow for the next potential meal. I didn’t see this owl catch anything but it made several attempts to dive into the snow and perched on several trees nearby listening for movement. These owls are considered very specialized hunters (particularly in winter) due to their exceptional hearing that can locate small rodents under deep snow - so I’m confident it was successful at some point during this time.
