Over an extended weekend we did a 2000 miles roadtrip from California to Utah and back: destination badlands near Hanksville. We stayed overnight at the Moonscape Overlook. At night it was raining, at times quite heavily. Next morning we were greeted with this muddy moonscape scene.

I processed a balanced, a paintery and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the curves and color balance, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS has come within about 44 million miles of Earth so, it may be something you can see with your own eyes, and you don’t want to miss it!

From about October 14-24th, the comet can be visible from the Northern Hemisphere and we are already seeing some great shots of sightings of this beauty from the Flickr Community.

Check out the gallery here and share your own photos in the comments!
