Unlike most of the fencing that borders the Mojave riverbed, which runs in a straight line parallel to the channel, this winding stretch of wood post and wire fencing snakes in a picturesque s-shaped curve from the sandy foreground toward the mountains (the Three Sisters) in the background.
Camera: Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60 (1972-1976, with 26mm f/2.7 Ektar lens, www.flickr.com/photos/xjx/15852568447/in/photolist-q9QyiD...). One of the more capable of the rectangular 110 cameras of the 1970s, the Instamatic 60 has features which include rangefinder focusing and auto exposure. Unfortunately, the little camera is powered by the long discontinued Kodak K battery, a set of three silver button cells sealed in a plastic case. An enterprising eBay seller, however, has begun offering a 3D-printed K battery replacement, with two plastic halves held together with small screws to allow easy replacement of the three readily available LR44 batteries inside. Problem solved :-)
