Situated in the grounds of Dalkeith Country Park, building of the palace was completed in 1711, and it is owned by the Duke of Buccleuch family. It is however currently leased by the University of Wisconsin for a study abroad programme.

Laundry Bridge, a stone arch built bridge constructed during the 18th Century, named as it was close to the old Laundry House within the grounds of Dalkeith Country Park, Midlothian. The bridge crosses the South Esk River
The suspended wooden slats were originally used to keep the Park’s Deer population from crossing over from one side to the other.
