Varanasi (Inde) - Cette photo est un instantané, pris alors que je photographiais la soeur de cette jeune fille sur un fond coloré destiné à « extraire » le portrait du bidonville. L’adolescente nous regardait et attendait son tour pour être elle aussi photographiée. Malgré la rapidité avec laquelle j’ai braqué mon objectif sur elle, alors qu’elle nous observait, on a quand même l’impression qu’elle prend la pose.

Varanasi (India) - This photo is a snapshot taken while I was photographing the sister of the girl on a colored background for "extract" the portrait of the slum. The teenager was watching us and waiting for his turn to be photographed too. Despite how quickly I aimed my lens at her as she watched us, it still looks like she is striking a pose.
