This is my bricked version of the classic Opel Kadett C Coupé of 1975 in the G/TE Group 2 works rallye trim. It was piloted by Henri Greder, Bror Danielsson and Walter Röhrl between 1975 and 1977. The German manufacturer Opel had been owned by General Motors until recently, and the Kadett C was Opel's version of GM's T-Car. In a lot of other places other than continental Europe, it had different brandings and names and sported varyingly different designs of the front and other details, for example with a sloping hood without a grill as the Vauxhall Chevette. The car has rarely been interpreted in plastic bricks, possibly because of all these variations and the resulting lack of recognition value and mundane look of the car. But, in fact, I consider it a real rallye classic just like the Ford Escorts of the same era. This is as good as I could make the Lego bricks resemble the original's proportions and slopes and at the same time make the model fit two minifigures. I switched their arms on the window sides, so that they don't stick up as much, and the co pilot sits one stud in front, leaning backwards. The rear view mirrors are made from the 1970s Lego figures' hands (3614), the 1970s element in this 1970s car. The seats are made with 1x2 jumper- and ingot plates to create stripes and head rests. Some 1x2 rocker bearings underneath bring about the trunk's, the rear windows and the hood's sloping in different angles. A lot of 1x2 jumpers position the upper sections in the right shape.
