I would guess that I took this picture only because it was an opportunity that i didn`t have to go out of my way for as I really don`t think that I would have made any great effort to capture one of these on film. It`s A1 which along with A2 were 19 seat Dodge`s with a Rootes body bought for the local service around Potters Bar and seen here at the Station on 15 April 1983. It was only a few weeks into service at this point hence looking smart.

The driver - as I recall - had been a regular driver on the 284 when it was introduced as a local route around Potters Bar in September 1968 with RF`s of which two were allocated for a one bus route. Later becoming MB operated and later still by the FRM and then finally by DMS until mini-bus operation began in 1977.

The VW beetle with the 2 about to fall off the registration plate must have been supplied by a local dealer as I recall a new blue one registered BAN 804H parked most mornings near the bus stop not far from Potters Bar where I caught my bus to school.
