On a day when it felt we were being skunked, back-tracking to the car, two Spotted Towhees and a Northern Flicker were feeding on berries near the south pond. They were engrossed in their meal and allowed us to close and snap their photos while they dined…

The local Towhees are an attractive sparrow with us here in the Middle Rio Grande Valley all year long… I always greet them and enjoy seeing them wherever I am walking...
