Incredibly proud to showcase my largest project to date. After finishing the Schnellboot S-100 in December 2022, I felt a proper landscape around it would only do it justice! After a summer holiday in Norway, it was clear to me that this would be the best fitting scenery. So, after arriving back home I started planning. Quickly it got out of hand, and I realised it would be too large to even put in my room. Eitherway I continued in sections, and after thousands and thousands of 1x2 trans-black tiles I was able to complete all the water! After building the pretty straightforward harbour, I started on the rockwork in mid September 2023. Many weeks of dreadful rockwork later, including many collapsed sections and loosening pieces everywhere, I was finally able to start the olive green landscaping. The easy and relatively flat layering was an enormous relief after all the rockwork. After finishing the landscape my first convention - MegaBricks Steenwijk - was already coming up. In a rush I was able to construct most buildings. Although most of the buildings ended up being incredibly fragile and not as refined as I would've liked, it was a weight lifted of my shoulders to have finished the main structure in time. Al be it I hadn't finished everything, with the incredibly help of my friends over at Klompenlug - in particular Job (Brickuser), who built one of the missing baseplates of water for me 😘 - , I was able to present a solid model. After MegaBricks Steenwijk I was able to do some finetuning, and I added the last details. Now, after 7 months, I proudly present you my biggest model yet!
I'd like to thank everybody for their help, and I want to give credit where its due. I wouldn't have been able to do it without these people!
- Brickuser for lending me an entire baseplate of water!
- Rebla for the design of the Kübelwagen and Peugeot, two of my most used and beloved 1:35 cars.
- Sirluftwaffles42 for the huge inspiration of the Opel Blitz. The brilliant cabin is totally his design!
- Everybody on Discord and Instagram who provided me with feedback, and helped me improve along the way!
