DPS owned D9009 Alycidon awaits departure from Newcastle on a dismal 17th May 2003 with Steamy Affairs tour The White Rose. Quite why a tour which terminated and returned from Newcastle carried this title does slightly puzzle me. The tour originated from and returned to Ashford. Although it is only around 17:30 the station lights are already in use, so dull was the day.

This would become the last working on BR using unfitted wagons and were dedicated for use only on the North Blyth - Lynemouth Alcan circuit. Currently, the only remaining traffic on this section of the B&T is the Alumina to Fort William and returning empties

A rather unremarkable shot of 55018 Ballymoss at Newcastle on 6th June 1981 working 1E10 the 09:10 Dundee to Kings Cross service. Although a rather ordinary picture it marked a rekindling of my interest in railways that had taken a back seat for a number of years.
