The Santa Maria lighthouse located at the mouth of the Tagua River in Portugal just to the south of the city of Cascais. The 8 meter (25 ft.) tall lighthouse was buit in 1868 on the site of a 17th century fort. It now has a small museum.

An aerial view of Lisbon's Vasco da Gama Bridge which spans 17.2 km (10.7 miles) over the Tagus River and is the longest in the European Union. Construction took three years. It was completed in 1998 in time for Lisbon's Expo '98 World Fair.
