In a harsh winter, Dongdong, with a deep wound on his back, was abandoned near a Beijing's neighborhood street. I took him to the US, and he quickly became a precious family member. Since found in winter, he was given a name as Dong Dong -- meaning winter white in Chinese. Dongdong passed away in June 2018, but always stays alive in my memory.

In the summertime, swallowtail butterflies often sit on the top of spear thistle flowers. In general, butterflies get food from thistles, and flowers get pollinated through butterflies. They are together to maintain a healthy environment and create a beautiful world for us to enjoy.

I havd never paid attention to birds until recently. With COVID-19 travel restrictions, only places I could visit are some local isolate areas to observe birds. These birds made me realize a wonderful and colorful world out there for us to enjoy.

Walking around neighborhood's woods yesterday morning, I had these two encounters playing on a walking path bridge. At first, I was a little scary since I have never seen this kind of animals in the neighborhood area before. Luckily I managed to remain calm and snapped this shot when they momentarily stared at me before jumping into the water running away.
