The Parish Church of St Nicholas
The church of St Nicholas dates from the 13th century with additions up until the 19th century and sits in the centre of the small village next to the 16th century manor. Approximately 1 mile south of the village was a roman settlement called "Causennis". It was excavated in the 1970's and 80's revealing stone buildings, iron-smelting furnaces and various artefacts.
