Tas pasar El SERRON, otra esclusa destacada aparece en el recorrido del Canal, es la esclusa 28 y 29, en Grijota, se fundaron hasta cuatro fabricas de harinas que surtían de pan a Palencia y a pueblos próximos.

El Serrón es el lugar donde el Canal se ramifica; el Rama de Campos continua por el ramal de la derecha y a la izquierda da comienzo el Ramal del Sur que llega hasta Valladolid.
