Glossy ibis, a rare autumn and winter migrant to the UK. The glossy ibis is more commonly sighted in the UK than the tradition ibis. They are most commonly seen around Marsh land, mangrove swamps and mudflaps digging in shallow water looking for insect lava and water beatles. They are most easily Identified by their curved beak and long knock however they also have a green and purple gloss on their backs. Apart from when they are matting when they turn a chestnut brown colour. It is predicted that sightings of these birds will become more common as the UK increases in temperature.
