On the evening of Monday, May 24, 2021 - New England Central Railroad’s job 601 rips across the former double track Boston and Maine bridge over the Sugar River near Claremont, New Hampshire. Job 601 is a local based in White River Junction which works the industries between WRJ and the interchange with the Vermont Rail System in Bellows Falls, Vermont. It’s not often that you see a shortline railroad that boasts Centralized Traffic Control, 40 mph for freight and 79 mph for Amtrak.

New England Central road freight train 601 has just crossed over the Connecticut River into Windsor, Vermont on a spring evening. Still sporting the nose herald, NECR 721 is one of the few engines that has not been painted into the G&W corporate orange scheme. Shortly after shooting them, I lost the light for the rest of the day.
