On Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 - Two hikers and a biodiesel powered train near the summit of Mount Washington, New Hampshire. The average grade on the cog railway is about 25%, although a few sections reach about 37.5% - that means the railroad will gain 37.5 feet in elevation for every 100 feet traveled.

A springtime visit to the Mount Washington Cog Railway yielded some great results. Our bio diesel powered train made an easy climb on track with an average grade of 25 percent, although grades up to 37 percent are experienced. It just so happened I caught one of the nicest days of the year with views of 5 states and Canada from the top.
