The 36 lever electro-interlocking machine. I forget the exact manufacturing date, but I want to say pre-WWII. 1938 comes to mind. Manual levers activated a relay which would throw a switch. Levers also activated signals.

The train display above the interlocking cabinet. Normally these boards are painted and not made of paper.

Manual CTC machine, built by the Union Switch and Signal Company. Installed in the 1980s according to the operator. By the way, if anyone has a US&S 45 1911 A1 for sale, shoot me a message.

The interworkings of an interlocking machine. Imagine engineering, building and assembling cabinet after cabinet of these machines. The giant puzzle is a true fit to the name "interlocking."
