As the sun began to set and the clouds continued to jostle about, one of the Trail Islands was crowned with color. A beautiful sight, all I needed was a foreground element.

Down the beach was a trunk that had washed up years ago. It had three roots protruding. I place my tripod on the top of the flattened trunk showing only the roots. While there, some stray light touched down, and the image was born.
