The industrial complex was built by the trading company „Hamilton“ in the year 1903 as pump house and home of the machinist. It’s also called „Casa Hamilton“. The first steam engine of the Canares was operating there to pump the water of the sweet water springs of Gordejuela to banana plantations in the Orotava valley. The ruins are still visible, but the the former 43 m tall chimney is demolished.

Estancia San Gregorio - Jose Menendez bought the ship Amadeo in 1892, the first steam boat in this region, which transported wool to Europe for decades. Tonnage 412 grt, beached since 1932. Now fast erosion destroys the remains, especially the seaside and the back :-( Better days (www.wrecksite.eu)
