One of the sailors commemorated in the Chapel of the Spanish Sailors
When I visited the chapel it was clean and cared for. Who?
Then, on another visit, I saw this young lady caring for the holy place. I'm not sure that she was happy to see me so I left.
Another of the seamen commemorated in the Chapel of the Spanish Sai9lors.
Possibly a brother to the one I posted earlier.
From imagination.
The Chapel of the Spanish Sailors
If you are sitting on the bench just swivel round and look at "The Chapel of the Spanish Sailors". This was built in 1903 to remember the sinking of the Spanish ship 'Nuestra SeƱora de Guadalupe'. (Our Lady of Guadalupe) and the loss of her company.
Mass used to be celebrated on the 20th April each year, but has not been celebrated for many years now as the descendants of those sailors have lost touch with the tragedy.
