I had always thought characters in Anime and Manga seemed impossible with thin bodies, long legs, and big eyes ... until I sketched this. Since the sculpture garden is part of the Arts Department, UCLA, everybody was very supportive of us sketching there. The security guards left us alone and a couple of Fashion-Majored students came to see us. Naturally I asked if they could pose for a portrait. They couldn't stay long because of their classes. The two girls were so cute and they seemed to be walking right out of a Japanese Anime.
