After this perpetually dull summer it was nice to be reminded that it's not always like this by finding this snap of our small garden in Bristol. I hope the next summer will bring this weather to Plymouth...

While enjoying an evening drink at the edge of Poole Harbour (the jetty of the RMYC) I was struck both by the beautiful reflected colours and by the abstract sense of space created by the random objects breaking up the surface. the scene induced a transcendental feeling of timeless peace and tranquility.. Luckily I had my camera with me to record the scene when I emerged from my reverie, but the colours were already darkening..

PS Nov. 2024: a new higher quality scan of this old favourite, but the original film was Ansco 200 which was very grainy and far less sharp than the Kodachrome-25 I generally used
