The Temsa Avenues are known to be on borrowed time, due to be replaced by Easter sadly.

Here is one of the more common performers of the type on the X4 route, it fits in amongst the usual near full house allocation of Pulsars.

4712 comes to the end of the Coast Road as it enters Redcar, working a X4 Whitby to Middlesbrough.

Four E400MMCs were drafted in from the Northumbria depots, for use on X94 spring / summer uplift of adding in the X94 variation of the popular X93/X94 Middlesbrough - Whitby - Scarborough. Three X94 extras are slotted in to start in the morning from Middlesbrough and return the end of the day. Throughout the day, just doing X94 shorts between Whitby and Scarborough.

However as the pattern with recent years, the reliability of the Volvo B9TL's as been woeful peak season, seeing the E400MMCs typically covering the X93 turns, with Pulsars and the odd Temsa covering X94 trips.

7579 having served Guisborough from its run from Middlesbrough, continues for Scarborough via Whitby on a X93 turn.

It remains to be seen if these will remain as part of the Redcar allocation or return north, but the 2023 season saw two examples come and return, but 2024 the trio of ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL's have been retired.

On a fine Sunday in August, the only Volvo B9TL, Wright Gemini 2 to be found out on the whole of the X93 and X94 services out of the batch 7401-6! A theme as with previous years in peak season in recent years, you would be pushed to find more than two or three out.

Anyway 7402 oddly has been worked out of Redcar on the three X94 workings down the start of the day, with the others on the day were Pulsars 1424 (tracking as 1444) and 1440. The X93 operated by Whitby outstation had E400MMC's 7578/9/81 and Pulsar 1425, the later I recently posted in this exact spot.

The livery however it has to be said does look cracking on these B9TL's.

Following the closure of Oswestry depot, Shrewsbury depot assumed control of the 53 Ellesmere to Oswestry service. As a result the route is near solid Optare Versa operation now, only a odd Solo on rare occasions. Some may say a far cry from the days of variety where Versas, Scanias, Pulsars and numerous double deckers been operated.

YJ60 LUP was originally one of the Shrewsbury Park and Ride examples. It later gaining a Christmas based Park and Ride scheme and a timber frame based livery, linked to the heritage of the town and the 'Original Shrewsbury' campaign before been put into fleet livery.

Since the closure of Oswestry depot, Shrewsbury depot has taken over the main service into Oswestry from Shrewsbury. The X5 as the service is now, has some AM and PM extra peak workings, here we see a PM peak working in late April, operated by a bus that previously has seen the day on Shrewsbury locals, hence the chance of a smaller bus some days, opposed to a Versa.

This Optare Solo M880SL was one of four such examples new to Arriva Midlands, Derby depot. Three examples moved in later life to Shrewsbury, once however was written off and since scrapped, and only one moving to Arriva Southern Counties.
