The Exmoor Coaster goes from strength to strength, and a much welcome boosted service for 2023, seeing extra frequency to between the core Minehead to Lynmouth run with five round trips to Ilfracombe.
Going against the general passenger flow here, buses often full on the morning trips to Lynmouth and back towards Minehead in the afternoon, this journey still carries a fair load on the penultimate trip out of Minehead of the day, a hour prior the bus was well loaded for the last Ilfracombe trip. I sampled the service a couple of days and impressive loadings and queues at Lynmouth in the afternoon were seen for Minehead return. The Ilfracombe trips which I expected to be quiet carried well both directions on the Devon side of the service.
SN59 AVW, one of four of this batch freshly converted for 2023 has a reflective moment after tackling the impressive climb up from Porlock.
