A couple of days ago we were in the kitchen when we noticed one of our local Barn Owls flying in our direction across the back fields. What followed was a classic Ealing comedy.

Scrambling up the stairs, looking for our cameras and of course each one of us was the last person to have the key that unlocked the window! Window opened, the owl was there, focus, click, the owl was gone. There was no time to fine tune any settings and the result was this rather high key image of the owl against the snow, which I think worked out quite well in the chaotic circumstances!
