Sie zeigt den D 275 Frederikshavn – Hamburg-Altona, gezogen von einer unbekannten 218 vom Bw Flensburg. Vor wenigen Minuten hat der Zug den Rendsburger Bahnhof verlassen, der links außerhalb des Bildausschnittes liegt. Nun befindet sich die Lok auf der nördlichen Rampenstrecke genau über der kurz zuvor von ihr selbst befahrenen Strecke am Ende der langen Schleife und wird gleich die bekannte Brücke über den Kanal erreichen. Der Wagenpark des Zuges besteht aus zwei Bm-Wagen der Deutschen Bundesbahn und fünf UIC-Y-Wagen der Danske Statsbaner (DSB). Für den Fotostandort war eine vorherige Genehmigung erforderlich.
