Ninh Binh's Golden Pagoda was built on top of the ancient octagonal pagoda. The temple is unique not only for its octagonal architecture, built entirely of black ironwood, but also for the landscape surrounding it. It's also unique for its location right in the middle of Whale Lake, bringing its own serenity and poetry.

While vacationing on the Riviera Maya, my husband and I would walk to the beach every morning to watch the sun come up over the sea. I love the pastel color palette of the Caribbean skies at sunrise reflected on the Yucatan’s white sand beaches, and enjoyed playing with long exposures in early morning light, using intentional camera movement for soothing abstract effects.
