Three swords, pointing left, are symbols on the Chute family coat of arms. Here they are seen on the Tudor linefold oak-panelled walls of the Oak Gallery in The Vyne, a 16th-century country house outside Sherborne St John, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England.
It was built for Lord Sandys, King Henry VIII's Lord Chamberlain, and later passed to the Chute family.
