User / d0gwalker / Maori dancers perform at Clandon Park
10,680 items
This is part of a group of traditional Maori dancers performing at Clandon Park, a National Trust property in Surrey. The dancers come from Ngati Ranana, a UK based club promoting Maori culture.

The performance is staged at Clandon Park several times a year: the link is that Clandon is home to Hinemihi - the only Maori Meeting House in the UK. This is a wooden building, sited in the grounds of the property, which was transported from New Zealand by the owner of Clandon Park, the 4th Earl of Onslow, as a reminder of his time as Governor of NZ in the 1890s.
