Part of the complex of seven churches ("sette chiese") known collectively as Santo Stefano in Bologna in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Parts of this complex date back to the fifth and eighth centuries.

The Cortile di Pilato (or Pilate's Courtyard) has a 13th century portico (on the left in this picture) and an 8th century limestone basin at its centre, the work of Lombard sculptors.

The west porch of Ferrara Cathedral is supported by columns on either side, each with a telamon (human figure as a support) seated upon a lion at its base.

Ferrara Cathedral, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, was begun in the 12th century and its façade dates back to that original Romanesque design.
