A CN freight train dodges the shadows, rolling east through Thornhill as the rays of morning sunlight pour onto the trees. This doublestack hotshot will hang a left at Doncaster diamond a mile away for the trip north through Muskoka and beyond to the west coast.

This is the unfortunate spot I chose to shoot CN P698 aka VIA's new Siemens set trailing an SD70M-2 headed for Montreal. I overestimated his speediness across the Halton Sub and underestimated my travel time to Snider, where everyone else was. Don't worry about the photo I got because it ain't much to look at but, I did get an I-phone video which I will post later.
