Just got back from visiting family in Columbia, SC, and was greeted by this spectacular sunset! We live in the city, and there is no good perspective for viewing a sunset except on the downtown bridge, but by the time I would have gotten there, it would be gone.

We were sitting in the living room watching the Sunday news programs, when we heard a roaring howl from the street outside. Turned out to be the annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run.
Toys For Tots began as a Los Angeles charitable effort in in 1947, and has spread across the country in one manner or another. I have no idea who acts as organizer for the cycle folks, but huge numbers show up every year to dispense toys for children who are not expected to receive gifts during Christmas.
The clatter lasted for about ten minutes - enough time for us to get out our cameras and take a few shots...
