I'm posting these images of a rare North American native orchid, because there is a move to have this species included in the federal list of Endangered Species. I took these images in August of 2003 on Starr Mountain in Tennessee. I believe they are now extirpated in from the only site for this orchid species in South Carolina - Greenville County.
