The Hoya Infra Red filter came in yesterday's mail, but I didn't find out about it until this morning. So... I decided to take one quick shot from the front yard looking toward the house.
I ended up using Live View on my camera, since I could see absolutely nothing through the view finder! It worked fairly well.
Thought I'd need to use +5 stops, but ended up with +1 at f/5.0. I'll have to work with it some more to get a "feel" for the optimal camera settings. The $79 I paid for the filter sure beats the several hundred $$ I'd have to pay to have my camera converted to IR.

Just playing around again with my new Hoya R72, Infra Red filter. I thought of a place that would have sky, trees, and water. That is Lake Watacoo in the Ashmore Heritage Preserve, less than an hour from home. It was a beautiful day, but the wind started picking up before I was through shooting. That's why there are some ghost-like images of some of the vegetation on the edge of the lake.
