Results of a day trip about two hours away in Transylvania County, North Carolina for native Orchids and Trilliums. We have made this trip every year about the same date. The Orchids and Trilliums did not disappoint; we found just what we were looking for.

A full day trip to a spot I had heard about but never had the opportunity to visit. It was a very secluded flood plane on a small creek in the westernmost county of South Carolina, bordering the state of Georgia.
This was a very large population of this rare species considering that it is found in only a few states of eastern North America. I was fortunate to have my friend, David W. guide me to this remote site. He has been monitoring the population for several years and he is pleased that the population is doing so well.
