Unusually for this view and this time of day and year there are no obvious vapour trails to intrude though there are probably the remains of some just above and to the left of the sun.

Manchester Airport is more or less straight ahead, over the horizon and a long way off thankfully, and it does seem to attract aeroplanes.

We are now in the best time of year for this type of photograph as far as I'm concerned. The sun is in the right position relative to my bedroom window and will be for several months; it rises at a civilized time; I'm able to get out of bed, find my old compact, take a few test exposures until I get what I want, snap the three images for the panorama, get back into bed. The whole process takes about three minutes.
