In the days when there was still an open viewing platform at Edinburgh Airport, a JAT (Yugoslavian airlines) DC9 (reg. YU-AJJ) in the foreground while British Airways Boeing 757 (likely from Heathrow) lands in the background.
I expect the JAT DC9 was there to take tourists to somewhere (Dubrovnik?) in what is now Croatia but in 1988 was still - though not for much longer - unified Yugoslavia.
A quick Google search suggests this plane first flew in 1973 and is still owned by JAT (now the airline of Serbia) but stored (i.e. not in active service) in Berlin.
20 years ago, Edinburgh Airport was not nearly as cosmopolitan as it is now and I remember being impressed by the range of interesting airliners on offer that day compared with the usual stodgy fare of BA/BM/BCal flights to London.
