Due to its length the semi trailer has to make its left turn by turning from the middle lane (known in Australia as lane sharing). The bus driver would be used to situations of this nature and has deliberately held back to allow the truckie to make an easier turn.

The official title for trucks with two or more trailers is Road Train. Road Trains play a major role in the transport of cargoes in Australia and ply the roads in outback Australia.
Normanton is way out in the distant outback of north west Queensland. There is an isolated railway serving Normanton and it links with the town of Croydon. The train in use is a rail motor which operates once a week in each direction and takes about 5 hours to cover a distance of 100 miles or 150 kilometres.
