After a day of nonstop rain, the skies opened up before sunset. Riobamba is not at all an interesting city, but is near many of Ecuador's highest volcanoes (none of which were visible during my week long visit because of awful weather). Quito, capital of Ecuador, seen from the viewpoint on Panecillo hill, after sunset. The colonial old city in the foreground, the highrises of the new city at upper right side. 30 sec exposure so some wind blur in the trees, also some lens flare from streetlights, it's difficult to find a spot here without street lights poles and electrical cables destroying the view. Average altitude of Quito is 2850m.
