Colombian wax palm tree, the tallest palm in the world, only grows on the Colombian Andes. Taken with a zoom lens before the rising mist obscured the palm "forest", I didn't even get a chance to change to a wider lens.

Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, the largest fortress ever built by the Sapnish in their colonies, lies outside the city center of Cartagena, Colombia. Construction started in 1630, and extended until 1762. It's a hot merciless 30 minute walk from the center, under the midday heat, every step is a step toward dehydration.
