I'm happy to return to the 52 Weeks Group with my 1 year old sable (grey) German Shepherd Saxon (1st time for him, 4th for me).
I don't want to add too much now about him, as I'm guessing all of his awesomeness (and maybe some not so awesome tidbits?? nah, not likely he's awesome lol) will be revealed throughout the year.
One thing I will say, as the photo above suggests, Saxon was a born lover of all things wet!

a bit more water-loving action this week ... it is Summer here and it's been a hot week.
I find it funny that Saxon often drops the ball as he's returning with it. I've seen him running back with it, drop it, and pick it up almost without breaking his stride, though more often it goes wildly astray and he has to scramble to get back on course :-)
Here he's just about to lose control, and he knows it lol

love shooting wide-open, and can't help but give it a go under more challenging situations :-)
as far as the big boy Saxon goes, the ball (any toy really) is worth working for, and most of these retrieves involve some kind of training before the ball is his!

went to the Australian Open Tennis last week, I was going to do this shot then but Saxon needed a little training up on the oversized tennis ball, and the Open is in it's 2nd week, so it's still relevant ... anyway, I've never been to see a match before, it was a great hot day out! We got to see 4 1st round matches including Serena Williams and Jo Wilfried Tsonga :-)
in training (not in this situation) he was actually able to stand 2 paws on the ball ... may have to attempt to capture that another time :-)
maybe some of you remember Jamie's Australian Open Tennis shot for 52 Weeks 2010?

Saxon learnt to "hold" within a few minutes this week, it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing and I was so impressed to see how quick he got it that I decided to use it for this weeks' shot.
What better illustration than to have him bring the paper in, such a good boy :-)
