To start Saxon's 12 Month project: "Downtown with Saxon" where I'll aim to take his picture with some of the local sites of my semi-rural town.
The Presbytery United Church is at the end of a cul de sac and the beginning of the dog off-lead area (between 7:30am and 10am) by the creek and next to a couple of small horse paddocks. Built in 1865 (Australian history is comparatively new) out of local blue stone I just liked the idea of a picture with the blue door to be honest :-)

This was Saxon's first walk after his confinement, he was happy to get out, but did expect the ball after posing here, which I couldn't accommodate

This paddock is one street back from the main road, and in a block diagonally opposite the local IGA (grocery store).
There isn't always sheep in it, but there is a lot of the time.

2nd pic of Saxon and downtown - I'm not sure about other places but this seems odd to me to have sheep so close to the center of town?

The 3rd Month of "Saxon downtown" shows Saxon standing outside the building site of the new Coles that's coming to our town.
The closest supermarket like Coles or Woolworths is a half hour drive away, but we do have an excellent IGA (independent grocers australia - grocery store) that stocks a lot more than most IGAs around and stays open every day of the year.
I'm looking forward to the Coles anyway if only for the bakery section. I'm assuming they have set-up here because we have a few new estates taking up a bunch of old farming land, the population and all things that go along with that is exploding!

last month we had the coming of Coles, this month here, across the road is the old shopping area, it still has all the signs for butcher, baker, newsagency and cafe displayed but it hasn't had it's doors open since before we even moved here 8 years ago. The local story is the guy who owns it had a family health issue (it was open one day, closed the next) and now refuses to sell the place? The grounds at the back house sheep occasionally.

I'm really struggling to take these "downtown w Saxon" photos, they just aren't in my comfort zone, but I do like the trees in Autumn on this one :-)
