I've been meaning to do this type of "old style portrait" with Biscuit for a while now ... been trawling through The Commons (and 'dog') recently just for entertainment and decided now was as good a time as any to do it.

I look a bit mean but I was aiming for a straight formal face *shrug* ... I like Biscuit sitting nicely :-)

Biscuit is 10 years old now.

mid-morning run around for Biscuit at the park ... ball retrieves with a little extra grassy flavour ;-)

a little story: I've let Biscuit carry the ball as we head out of this park. There's a little blind bend just 10-20 metres before the exit.
Biscuit is trotting behind and I stop on the path at the corner where I can see both ways and look behind to find he's no longer got the ball with him.
I say to him: "where's the ball?" and he does this arch back the way he's come, in search of where he left it, sure enough he finds it and comes back to me.
Even though it may seem quite ordinary I just loved the way he was so casual about it, like, yeah I forgot for a second, let me go get it ... :-)

Emu Bottom Wetlands in Summer.

Biscuit standing in the bed of what should be some kind of water, a dam, or lake, or creek or something?

Can't remember - and I just checked - the last time I saw water in this spot, but this is the first time I've actually walked the length of it (only about a hundred metres).

just a quick shot of Biscuit posing on our morning walk.
They've been doing a lot of creek-health work over the last few years, loads more plants lining the banks makes for pretty pictures and presumably a healthy creek :-)

I love putting Biscuit in amongst foliage for his portrait ... however, more often than not he takes it as an opportunity to taste the foliage, especially if it is in his face.
He is known as a "daisy-plucker" (my phrase) because he randomly and regularly prunes the daisies in our backyard by just plucking the flower-heads off with his teeth and spitting them out, we know when he's had a little session by all the daisy heads on the ground nearby. I had to stop him the other day from plucking some flowers at the park that I was trying to get a photo of (without him) ... although I try to stop him doing it too much, and especially when I want the flower intact for pictures, I love this little quirky behaviour about him :-)
